Even as a baby, Kevin had interest in music. |
Kevin P. Washington was born on
October 24, 1983 in Wilmington, North Carolina, he is the son of Iva and Daryl Smith, and the grandson of Patricia and The
Late Robert McKoy. At the age of five Kevin's grandmother introduced him to music and to the church to which he showed
great interest. She had him join the St. Mark Youth Choir. As a child, many of
the older saints around Wilmington
knew Kevin as that little boy that can sang that song. He gives credit to the following people for a lot of his spiritual
and musical ways to his grandmother-Patricia McKoy, minister of music of St. Mark- Ricky H. Randolph and his mother- Missy
Smith because they helped him grow and supported all he sat out to do. However, as always To God Be the Glory. They kept him
in church and in prayer meetings, choir rehearsals, and bible studies.

to graduate high school. To complete this project he had to create an eight-page report on a topic of his choice and create
a physical project that displays a learning stretch for him. He decided that the topic would be "The History of Gospel
Music" and that he would fulfill his dream of starting his very own Community Choir. Later, becoming The Voices of Inspiration
Community Choir, which is a choir, combined of different church and community members that love to go out and minister
through song and save souls for God. Out of that choir sprung a Praise and Worship Team combined of all of
the Section Leaders and a Dance and Mime Team, there is talk about a step team springing up next.

love the Lord and I won't take it back. I truly believe that the call on my life is in the Youth. God has instilled in
me a passion to work with the Youth, not only in singing, but also in mentoring and advising. My prayer is that he continues
to equip me to do this, and that he continues to pour his powerful anointing over me, and the wonderful ministry that he has
blessed me with! I thank him for blessing me with a loving and supportive family, as well as an outstanding church home with
strong, dynamic leadership. Truly God is GOOD!!!"
